First World Problems
Let’s have a talk upon the philosopher’s stone
We can drone on and on, together
Clean up stand up straight, in the morning don’t be late
Put the money in the plate, all together.
Love letters to ourselves
Scratch the surface till you’re someone else
When all these first world problems
When Goddamn first world problems hit..
All arrows pointing down, there’s only noise, no more sound
Nothings gonna miss us around, not ever
Fall for lust, hope for fate, fight to live another day.
Half written, half erased. gone forever.
Love letters to ourselves
Scratch the surface till you’re someone else
When all these first world problems
When Goddamn first world problems hit.

Maybe shaking just a little of the country dust off for this album, but still with the on-the-nose, clever, relatable lyrics, this is Esther’s most innovative album yet
P.S. really missin ol’ Matt Bell on the lapsteel James Champion

It's really DBT at their finest. Reminds me at times of Southern Rock Opera, also their mid 2000s records, other times some of their more recent albums only more polished and cohesive and better melodies, better hooks, better lyrics.
Long live DBT! bdean42
