lyrics
Just Pretend Everything is Fine
The sun is not shining, it’s burning twice as bright
The flowers keep color if you adjust your eyes
Just pretend everything is fine
Just pretend everything is fine.
Drop it in the river, send it down the line
Make it disfigure all the beauty trapped in time
Just pretend everything is fine
Just pretend everything is fine.
Daddy said there ain’t no use in cryin’
Just pretend everything is fine.
Just pretend everything is fine
Just pretend everything is fine.
Never let the truth invade your mind
Just pretend everything is fine.

Maybe shaking just a little of the country dust off for this album, but still with the on-the-nose, clever, relatable lyrics, this is Esther’s most innovative album yet
P.S. really missin ol’ Matt Bell on the lapsteel James Champion

It's really DBT at their finest. Reminds me at times of Southern Rock Opera, also their mid 2000s records, other times some of their more recent albums only more polished and cohesive and better melodies, better hooks, better lyrics.
Long live DBT! bdean42
